2011 Respect

Well another year of Christmas Creep is upon us.

This year some stores have put out their Christmas decorations as early as October 1st, citing that they need to boost their sales for the 4th quarter.

Let me repeat that thought: They're putting out their decorations early, TO BOOST SALES.

They're not doing it because they love the Christmas holiday, they're doing it because they want to use the Christmas holiday as a way to push people to go out and buy buy buy more more more.

I've said this every year, but I'll say it again: I LOVE Christmas. I love every part of it, and every year my house is one of the most decorated ones in the neighborhood, inside and out.

But I think by overtaking Thanksgiving and now even Halloween you're cheapening the holiday, and turning it into a greedy money grubbing time of year that has less to do with snowmen and reindeer and more to do with maxing out your credit cards.

Maybe I'm wrong, and maybe this year will be different. Maybe people will respect the turkey a little more (and apparently now even the pumpkin is in danger) but I'm not hopeful based on what I've already found in stores and posted here!

Stay tuned for more pics of stores pushing merch on everyone long before it's appropriate, and remember: ncbt! No Christmas Before Thanksgiving!

Hallmark Holiday madness

Honestly I'm not surprised to see Christmas stuff at Hallmark in the
middle of October, but that doesn't make it right!

Joyeux Noel

Well another Thanksgiving has passed, and hopefully you spent Thursday enjoying some turkey and football with your loved ones, instead of shopping and stressing out over the pending Christmas holiday!

Now that our wonderful holiday for giving thanks is over, bring on the Christmas cheer!
