T-Rex Respects the Turkey!
They say that birds are descended from dinosaurs.
Maybe the T-Rex should be the official mascot of Thanksgiving, after Ralph the Rex and his friends went after some Christmas decorations put out too early!

It's not even officially fall yet!
The first day of Fall is September 13th, but already some shops are getting ready for Christmas.
Newsround - Is September too early to start thinking about Christmas?
We still have Halloween and Thanksgiving seasons to enjoy!

A few weeks ago, a Tesco supermarket in Cambridge even put their own big Christmas tree up outside the store - with 117 days to go until 25 December.

As stores are getting ready to line up their Christmas displays to make all that holiday money,
hopefully they are paying attention to the other holidays too.
A report just came out saying a whole bunch of people are going to be spending a whole bunch of money on Halloween stuff.

Welcome Fall 2017!
Hopefully your fall season is filled with pumpkin spice, some cooler evenings, maybe some cider and donuts, and of course shopping for those Halloween costumes.
Word on the street is that some of the stores have already put their Christmas decorations out!
The Christmas Creep might be a little frantic this year after Toys R Us declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy!
There were a lot of changes for the positive last year, with a lot of stores closing their doors on Thanksgiving Day so that families could be together for the holiday.
Hopefully those good feelings keep up this year, and every learns to #RespectTheTurkey!
Here's a funny cartoon found over at The Diet Riot Show

It's only two days after Halloween and I've already seen Christmas lights, fruitcake and scented pinecones.
Turkey: Hopefully by next year they will skip over Thanksgiving completely!!

Some great news has come from the Mall of America, where they have decided to close their doors on Thanksgiving Day to allow their workers to stay home with their families.
"We’ve been talking about this for months, looking at the numbers, looking at the pros and the cons,” said Jill Renslow, the mall’s senior vice president of marketing and business development. “We’re excited to give this day back to our employees so they can celebrate with their families."

Stores staying closed on Thanskgiving 2015
Hopefully everyone has their turkeys thawing in the freezer, and people are making plans to celebrate a day to give thanks for they have.
We all know black Friday is right after Thanksgiving where people jump right into the mad dash to buy things, and some retailers over the past few years have even been open for Thanksgiving shopping sales.
Thankfully some stores have come out now to say that they will not be open for shopping, so their employees can spend the day at home with their families.
TheBlackFriday.com has a good running list of stores that will be CLOSED on Thanskgiving Day.
If you're going out Friday, support the stores that support a day of thanks before shopping!

Don't shortchange Thanksgiving
Over at the Pensacola News Journal (pnj.com) writer Troy Moon has a great post about respecting Thanksgiving and fighting the Christmas creep.
Moon: Don't shortchange Thanksgiving
What we really need to be concerned about is the War on Thanksgiving, being waged by Christmas.
Black Friday is bad enough. But last year, the Christmas holiday season even swallowed Thanksgiving, to me, the best holiday of them all. A holiday built around family, friends, food and feasting. A day to count your blessings and enjoy the company of those you love most. But then again, some of us love the appliance aisle at the box store most of all.

Great to have another voice working to help keep the Thanksgiving holiday alive!

Quartz Christmas Creep Calculator
Quartz news site has made a graph to extrapolate the future date of when the Christmas Creep will hit for years to come.
Apparently in London they are turning on the Christmas lights on November 1st, far earlier than they have in the past.
Taking that into account, there will be Christmas in July in our future some day.

Time for Halloween and Thanksgiving
Just read a great post from Caroline Eagles blog chirish chatter over at Chicago Now:
I love America - Hallowe'en, Thanksgiving and only then Christmas
She's said in her post that in the US we celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving before Christmas, whereas in Ireland and England they start celebrating the holiday even earlier.
And it's not just the shops. The media are just as bad - Time Out London has already published its guide to the jolliest activities and events for Christmas 2015 - in June. Time Out Chicago only did its guide last year in the middle of November. I listen to a magic radio that teleports me back to Norn Iron, reminding me how to say 'now' properly and where to buy the best soda bread - and already I've heard sleigh bells, a few 'Ho Ho Ho's and the dreaded 'C' word.
Sure enough as she posted, over at Timeout London they posted a guide to enjoying Christmas, in June of this year.
(Christmas in London - Timeout.com)
Glad to hear about people respecting Halloween and Thanksgiving and giving Christmas it's own time and place!
